Tang Jie
Artist
Born in 1989, he graduated from the Sculpture Department of Luxun Academy of Fine Arts with a bachelor's degree in 2013 and a master's degree in sculpture from Luxun Academy of Fine Arts in 2016. His main research interests are installation and interactive art. Tang Jie is good at studying material relationship and the visual relationship that is formed by physical relationship, to present a kind of poetic simplicity of materiality. He uses water, wood, sand and stone as media to search for the natural laws of life and all things in the universe.
Project Introduction
The work "Wind into the Pine" is a wind-driven sculpture that moves with the wind and reciprocates freely. Inspired by the tall, straight and deep roots of the pine tree, it rises from the ground. The upper part is free and flexible, and the lower part is firm and stable. This natural law not only enriches the visual language, but also guarantees the safety, and also interprets the lightness and freedom only when rooted.
